Sad Day
It's a sad day for me. I had to take my father to the hospital this afternoon and he pass away just before midnight. I'm just glad it was fast and painless for him.
He was an Olds man himself as the 56, 61 and 70 Toronado in my signature were all his before me. He was such a simple person and I learned much of my mechanical ability from him. He joined the Air Force and started on recip engines before moving to jets. He loved his 61 Super 88 and tinkered with it what seemed like every weekend. He even drag raced it on the runways when Gen. Lemay allowed them.
Goodbye Dad and love you......................
Adding his favorite song.

Trips, sorry to hear it. I lost my own dad 22 years ago today and my old shift supervisor was killed in a motorcycle crash today after lunch, so looks like the day has not been kind.
If he went quickly and painlessly, he was fortunate indeed.

Hang in there dude. My father passed away 9 years ago. I know how it feels when you lost your father & your best friend. He's old and stubborn. He always complain why I own so many cars. I'm glad my father finally got the chance to ride in my convertible and looked up the sunny sky with the top down. He wont admit that he likes the ride but I know he does. My sincere condolences.

I'm so sorry.
While it may be true that we all go sometime, it seems like a particular loss to the nation that all the folks from his generation have been going in recent years.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

It doesn't matter how old you are, it's always tough to lose a parent. As you said at least he went quickly without a lot of pain. My Dad went to diabetes and it was slow, first he lost a leg, then his kidney functions, eyes, etc. My sympathies to you and your family.

So sorry for your loss
With rue my heart is laden
For golden friends I've had
For many a rose lipt maiden
and many a lite foot lad
By brooks to broad for leaping
The lite foot boys are laid
The rose lipt girls are sleeping
in fields where roses fade

My condolences, sir....
I guess a quick passing is the silver lining
Lost my dad a while back, seems like maybe 2 years after he retired...
still have Mom, but can't seem to find time to hang with her and she's only 10 blocks away.
While you still have a parent, show 'em some appreciation!
