Ross Racing Engines

Just a curious question from one who has had a large deposit down with Ross Racing Engines now for two years.
How many folks on this site or someone you know have a large deposit down with Ross Racing Engines?

I'm assuming you have had this topic discussion with Tony, what did he say about the delay?.... Tedd

I talk with Tony about once a month and he is busy racing and with building race engines and he likes to do the Olds engines in groups.

Below other topic. Ross racing engine.

I see your post from July 2017

More than 2 years for an engine rebuild.

Wow.
That's just too long.

I don't know of any shops that would take someone's money and then make them wait two years to start, unless they were waiting on parts that had been ordered...

I don't care how good he is or how long he has been building engines, two years is about 18 months too long to wait on an engine. No way to run a business. I would ask for my money and engine back.

Did SMS upholstery buy a controlling interest in Ross Racing?

61 Bat,
Thant's funny right there!
I know of one other person who has been waiting at least 3 years now and told me last week when we were talking about this that Ross has given him in writing (e-mail) a delivery date of September. I talked with Vern back when the Nats were in Cincinnati so when was that?

Engine

A 394 and he's mating a 700r4 trans to it.I spoke with Tony yesterday and he is in the process off milling the bell housings for the engines. So maybe we'll have our engine/tens shortly.

I live about 6 miles from Ross Racing. I've met the Father in person, nice guy. Never met the Son but I talked to him earlier this year about getting a set of 0.921 lifters for a 400 E-block. He did mention how busy he was. I told him only one thing worse than "lots of work", No Work. I've always heard good things about Ross Racing. I've heard the engine room is antiseptic clean. He has a dyno. Good luck with your engines.

Engine

I have no doubt that I'll get my engine, but all of these shops are alike in this restoration game, if you want the best for your car you have to wait your turn.
After all you you let a chiropractor do open heart surgery on you...same deal.
