Ordering From Rock Auto
Hi All,
After reading all the good things said about Rock Auto on this forum, I put together an order for my "71 Royale convertible for about $56.00. I filled in all the ordering info, and entered my zip code for the shipping. S&H came up at $56.00 with FedEx. Didn't get to enter any discount code either, so I canceled out the order, as I will try get the items locally.
None of the items had any great amount of weight to them either.
My question is, does that seem right for the S&H charges?
I'm in West Central WI.

I found shipping with Rock Auto could get pricey quickly as parts can be sent from all over. Make sure you keep track of your parts order and where parts are coming from. I made the mistake of not paying attention and 2 small light bulbs ended up costing almost 3 times what I could have bought them for locally. Shipping costs are the one thing I hate about using Rock Auto.

Different products come from different places, hence the multiple shipping charges.
I have found that most of one brand comes from a single place.
Some things like light bulbs comes from another, etc. Watch as you add items to see what you should get locally. The idea is to get as many parts as you can from one location. It is a pain but often worth it for big orders.
The discount code goes int he box called "how did you hear about us".

Ditto on that, i had several smalls and when shipping came up with 5 different shipping locations i reduced it to a reasonabile amount,they catch you with low part dollar prices then when you check out pow big bucks on shipping watch out.
