Restoring windows...what's the best way??
Just wondering what the best way to clean and restore glass?? My car has alot of original glass which has alot of grime in the corners, probably paint overspray from over the years, and just seem cloudy in some spots. I'm just being picky, cuz they aren't too bad, it's just something I've noticed. I didn't know if there were any secrets or special techniques out there that will really clean windows of all residue, paint, scratches... Or maybe buff the windows or something to shine them up?? And I'm talking beyond windex and a rag/towel.

Short of removing each window (side door glass) and using a razor blade and brake clean on the overspray and polish on chrome trim then reinstalling, I guess just time and patience...
I've actually used regular turtle wax to "shine up" mine

I totally agree with both previous suggestions, and would like to add a little to them. The glass guy who takes care of the "old" cars in this small town I live in uses a 50/50 mix of windex, or any ready to spray glass cleaner. You and I use it full strength, but he dilutes it to half water. He uses the mix to lubricate the 0000 steel wool and razor blades he uses to clean the glass. He says it helps clean and helps insure no scratching. I think the vinegar Glen suggests would do just as well also.

sweet, i will put it on my list of small jobs to be done, i would like to get them looking better. i have used the razor blade to remove stickers in the past, so i can see how the lubricated steel wool and razor would work well. thanks for the suggestions guys!!
