Man, what an awesome truck. It looks to be in great condition for it's age. This thing would make an outstanding car hauler. GLWS.

I would not say it was the predecessor to the Power Wagon, (1946), but it would be cool to have and looks good. Would it have been a semi ?

What is it with 1947 REOs? There was a 1947 REO cab and front end for sale at Fall Carlisle last year. There was a DIFFERENT 1947 REO cab and front end for sale at Spring Carlisle last week. Now this. It's a sign. This thing has "rollback" written all over it.

There's a salvage yard just south of Pueblo, CO that has quite a few REO tow trucks. The owner was willing to talk but was a little gun shy about sales. Same story in many yards across the country, someone took more than they mentioned because they didn't think the owner would know. Also didn't help I was a NY Yankee by birth that looks a little to much like a Goodfellas movie.

I'd love to bring these trucks back to life one day.

Asked if he had any Oldsmobiles, said no. Asked if he would sell one of the Scout II's he said they had no papers. He did have one in the back of the yard but no longer lets anyone in due to guys being dishonest. I was there on a Wednesday asked if I could look at it Friday he initially said OK but when I returned he told me he hadn't went back to see where it was yet. This man knew every inch of the yard. It was written all over his hands and clothes, so I took it as don't get to pushy. I then asked if it would be OK to take a few pictures and he gave me permission from outside the gate. I thanked him took about 25 pic's and went back in to say goodbye. Definitely my kind of people, a mountain of knowledge. Thought I'd be back the following year but haven't returned since 2015.

I found the body of this truck at the pumpkin patch one year. And put a 47 Chevy truck frame under it. And now it has a 425 olds Muncie 4-speed 12-bolt posi... with airbags in the rear

The patina on that truck is incredible. Looks like someone already sprayed it with clear satin coat.
