rebuilt carb issue on 2brl 394

I rebuilt my 2brl rochester. I cleaned it and replace everything including finding the correct brass float. The adjustments were set to specs. When everything was done idle was at specs and engine timed. Engine never ran better!! So here is the problem.....about half the time when I shut the car off it diesels and when it happens it takes a half dozen attempts to shut down engine.
SO WHATS UP?

is the curb idle speed set to specs? is there a throttle kicker solenoid mounted on the carb. or manifold that may need adjustment? (just off the top of my head)

I don't think that's a carb problem. Isn't dieseling caused by excessive carbon buildup in the cylinder heads which heats up and acts as the proverbial glow plugs? The carburetor just seems to be an unwilling accomplice.
