Really Cool Dyno Video (new LS6)

Check this video out at the 42:18 mark. This is a portion of the recent presentation provided by GM performance engineering on the new LS6 small block where they simulate racetrack consditions to dynamically test the dry sump performance:

This is an exelent example of the philosophy of "One test is worth a thousand expert opinions & computer simulations".

GM must be praying this new V8 completely knocks it out of the park in power and reliability.

Did anybody hear mention of a Horsepower rating? The stock Stingray is 495 now, I believe.

Its mentioned in the video along with a dyno chart comparing it to the LT2, but the 6.7L (409ci) LS6 is rated at 535 HP and 520 ft-lbs. GM claims this is the highest TQ NA pushrod V8 ever put into a production car.

Both the Stingray and the new Grand Sport will use the LS6 in 2027+, the E-Ray is replaced with the "GSX", which is a Grand Sport with the ZR1X's 180 HP electric assist motor on the front axle (up from 160 HP in the E-Ray). Z06 continues w/ the LT6 (flat-plane DOHC 32v 670 HP V8) and the ZR1 / ZR1X continue with the LT7 (flat-plane twin-turbo DOHC 32v 1064 HP V8).
