RE Olds Transportation Museum

I was downtown today and stopped by the museum and voila' they are open Sunday. Oh the treasures therein!! Hurst Hairy Olds. A 1969 Hurst/Olds. The Toronado pusher. Miniature engines. V6 diesel and V8 diesels. Alero race car. Passwater's race car? Turbo and twin turbo quad four motors. Miniature 1908 and full size. Statue of RE Olds. The oldest existing Olds 1897 on loan from the Smithsonian. Huge flywheel stationary engines.

Turns out the HHO has no water pump on either engine.
Evidently there was a black and gold '68 H/O

If you get a chance stop in. A mere $6 entry.
Closed Mondays.

I have more photos but there has GOT to be a better way to get them visible here. I have the iPhone 5S so if anyone has tips on how to quickly share to here, say via Tumblr or whatnot, please share.

Sorry, I thought 'twas known by all

Downtown Lansing MI
Main street, Michigan Avenue, is closest, runs right to the Capitol building.
Mill Street goes south off Michigan and down to the Museum.

There is a guy named Ashley Jones who I believe is the curator of the museum. He is a great guy & a die hard Olds. fan also. I bought my '72 442 conv. from his collection a few years ago. He was on American Pickers a while back & Mike & Frank sold him a 1908? leather license plate issued by the Oldsmobile car company. Some of you may have seen that episode. I plan to visit the museum this year for the Olds. homecoming, thanks for the information Chris.

Well, I just found something to do if the weather turns foul at Woodward this year.

The R.E Olds museum is great! I highly recommend visiting that place when you can. I love going down there. I've even been known to take some of my dates there, haha. They do change out some of the inventory every once and a while too. I usually make a yearly trip to the museum.

Oh man is that REO museum cool. I took a picture of my tribute car by the sign. Then had to go inside and taking a tour. Told the guys that i had a 69 on the trailer. I think they thought i stole there's because they were really rubber necking as they walked out it was closing time.
