Rare W25 car

Wow here's another one

"Perhaps the rarest of Oldsmobile’s 442 “W” cars was the W-25 convertible"

comes with 345hp - I didn't know that was an official HP rating for a 442

Are those "Cutlass Supreme" door panels? I see the "CS" emblem- didn't know those were available on 442?

door panels

Actually, the C/S emblems are correct since 442 convertibles were assembled with several Supreme parts (e.g. quarter panels)

it's quirky, but correct for 1970.

They corrected this for 1971...1971 442 convertibles didn't have the C/S emblem on the door panel.

Thank you, I didn't know that! That's very interesting.

Do you know if that was that consistent for 1970, I ask because my 442 convertible (34467) has the rocket emblem on the door panel and I have seen many others with that emblem as well but I have also seen the C/S emblem on 442 convertibles as well

This emblem issue was previously discussed.

I've yet to see anything conclusive that the 442s have C/S emblems. That fact that quite a number have them, and that the converts share the C/S interior is *far* from being proof. That is evidence to question, but without anything more, it is just a questionable at best and should not be taken as fact.

Holy...
I went to the auction on Friday and saw this car. Looked like a nicely restored rather base model 442 with a few modern/incorrect things (like the steering wheel).

I was puzzled by the prominent W-25 designation. That's just the OAI hood , right ?
