Ram air hood

Hey guys
I'm looking to purchase a ram air hood for my 70 cutlass, my first question is if I go aftermarket who is the best fit and is reasonably priced? and will a 69 fit a 70?

Thanks

Thornton Reproductions by far is going to give you the best fit and quality. I know they are pricey but you are going to be happy with it. Read some of the threads on other vendor aftermarket hoods. I was at a car cruise a few weeks ago and a guy had another vendor other than Thornton and it did not look good at all.

Also THE Parts Place has them for 729.00 Item # BP1151T

OAI hood

OEM or Thornton or no OAI. The others are all junk.

And it is an Outside Air Induction hood. Your car is an Olds not a Pontiac.

I got the Thornton. Shipped well packed and painter was able to make it match perfect. As with all from what I understand, it had to be sanded a couple times to get smooth, it fit very well. I would do again. Good luck.

I got one from Tamraz , the one with steel frame under. With hood locking pins and shipping $1100. It wasn't perfect but it really wasn't a bad fit and overall quality is decent. It didn't take much to get it prepped for paint.

Thanks Guys, it sounds pretty clear that Tamraz is the way to go.

Were you able to use the factory hood latch? I know on a lot of them you can't

On mine I had to shim the latch down abot 1/4". But it works fine. I also had to grind two nuts off of the hood frame to bolt the factory catch hook in place.
