Rally pack restoration? Who does them?

I am looking into maybe having a rally pack restored and recalibrated. Has anyone had this done. How did it turn out and who did it?

you can also do it yourself, I took mine a part added new lenses, painted the insides for better light reflection and changed the bulbs (also bought a few new bulb sockets from RockAuto as a few old ones were cracked). You can calibrate the tach yourself as well. Can't remember if I read about that on here or in the repair manual. You can also clean up the clock or replace it with newer guts

x2, I used John as well for the Chevelle cluster and 442 gauges. I stayed with the old (original type) movement on my clocks though, just more correct that way IMHO.

Behold, the Super Sport dash gauge package. I see very few of them, but I certainly like it on my 72 Monte Carlo, beats the giant fuel gauge any day.

I had my clock rebuilt, along with a new printed circuit, by the Tachman, back in 03. I am not sure he's around any more. It sweeps instead of ticks, I guess, but I never saw it move originally, so I wouldn't know any better.

I bet the clock on the rallye pac I've got for the 67 is dead. I'll find out someday soon when I power it up.

Thanks guys. I called him today and liked talking to him. I thought it was more money to get them restored than it is. I also agree about the clock. I like the original movement much better.

Care to share any of the details about a restoration of the Rally Pack?
What all is included? Price?
I've been wanting to get mine restored just haven't called anyone yet.
Thanks

I have the prices at work. I will post what I think everything was. This was for a 70-72 rally pack. He said many times 68-69 are a little more.
He said he will restore the lenses, lube, clean paint, bulbs, calibrate, tighten or replace loose pins.... anything needed.

Speedometer $100, If parts are needed it would be around 25 for one part and 15 for the other and no other parts would be needed. He said that many times there are no parts needed.

Tach between $125 and $195

Clock $35 for quartz and up to 90 for the original if I understood right

Gauges $35 each gauge (X3 for the gauge pod)

Thanks much for the info. This gives me a good ballpark figure of what kind of funds I'll need before I make the call to commit.

I had Redline do mine too. My tach and temp were off. My oil pressure bounced all over and the clock did not work. They came out nice and work great. I was very happy. I think it was about $400 for all.

John told me to make sure and add a battery disconnect switch for original style movements though. This will keep the contacts from welding together as the battery drains down, FWIW.

I had this guy do my gauges in my 65 Vette about 9 years ago, they look amazing and work perfect. He did to clocks for me, one original movement and another quartz. Im saving the original movement one. The quartz clock keeps perfect time. He was great to deal with. If my gauges in my 442 need any work ill definately send them to him.

I fiqured it out. Pulled up the stem & held the inside part with a small pair of needle nose pliers. Turned the **** counterclockwise & it screwed off.

Removed the plexiglass lens & used it as a template to drill a hole for the adjust **** in a repop lens.

Gently cleaned everything & touched up the needles with a sharpie pen.

Looks great!

Is Redline able to reproduce the decals?

Each gauge had different stickers/decals on the outside of each housing. Are they able to produce these as part of gauge cluster restoration to apprear as almost NOS?

You need a power supply to supply the right voltages to the right pins. You can easily fry something.
