Rag Joint Splines?

How many splines on the rag joint for a '65 Vista Cruiser? If it matters, it has power steering. Tough to count 'em on either the disintegrated joint or on the steering box. Best place to buy?

Never mind, found a spare!

It looks like the 13/16"/31-splines is OEM. Advance Auto Parts has three types, and Lares 201 looks like OEM:

"Exact Fit for your 1965 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser Custom 10:1 Fast ratio; New; For 13/16" 31 spline input shafts with flat and 3-1/4" OD steering coupling assembly.; OEM w/ casting #6 or 76."

$34.49 at Advance, half that at Rock Auto.

Remember that the 64-66 steering columns ground through the coupler and the aftermarkets I have seen do not have the ground wire provision. The spline count is different between manual & P/S.

I'm not sure about that. I don't think the column flange comes in contact with the safety studs/lugs. If the flange contacts them,then yes it works as a ground. I rebuilt my original coupler and used the OEM grounding wire. I took mine apart and plated everything as per OEM to get what I wanted. I could be wrong about the Rock Auto coupler and if I am,sorry.

Old thread but in case someone is reading this;

I bought the Lares 200 from Advance Auto and the Lares 200 from Rockauto and neither has the ground wire built in. Looks like I'll be adding that feature.
