radiator issue

radiator issue

has anyone ever had the lip of the radiator fail (where the cap is held on). I'm sure I'm dealing with an original factory radiator on my '72 Delta 88 and last night the cap blew off. When I looked at the radiator, I noticed a section of that lip missing. (The pic of the radiator was just for example, not mine with the missing section)

A good radiator shop can solder in a new neck.

That doesn't look like a factory radiator. Does it have aluminum tanks? It looks like the fill is aluminum rather than brass. It also looks like tabs folded over the side of the tank. Can you share a few more pictures with us? John
