Radiator id

I have a new Harrison radiator that has a XJ code on the tank. The filler neck is level, not slanted. It's a standard shift unit with no cooling line provisions. I have been told it's a 68-70 unit because of the filler neck being level, not slanted. It's a re core because of the top and bottom flanges being open unlike the top hat style OEM flanges. Value would be appreciated also.

Thanks

Mike

TTT Come on guys, could someone please tell me if the XJ tank code is correct for an Olds or not. I do not have any 68-72 PIM/assembly manuals or I would look it up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

I do not think it is a 70. All the 70-72 radiators I have looked at have plugs in the holes for the trans cooler. No specific radiator is called out for auto/manual trans. I am not familiar with the 68/69.

Is XJ on the radiator tag or embossed on the tank? If embossed on the tank it will be hard to decipher as the assembly manual lists the complete radiator code and does not call out the tank codes.

Here is the 68 69 radiator charts. I did not see XJ listed.

Thanks for the info. The XJ is embossed in the tank and there's no ID tag on the unit. I want to sell it and wanted to make sure what it is. It's new and I know the 4 row cores new are around $400.

Thanks

Mike

Run a google XJ code radiator and look at the Yenko site. Some info is there. It depends on the other tank.
