Proper Oil Pan gasket replacement 1969 455
My brother and I have the 1969 455 on an engine stand and we're prepared to remove the oil pan and replace all gaskets since it has a slight leak. Couple of questions to make sure we do this right.
1. Do we need to remove the timing cover to replace the gasket when the motor is out of the car?
2. On what side do we apply the gasket sealent? Pan side or motor side?
Thanks guys.

Also any suggestions on what sealant brand or type to use with the gasket for the best fit after torquing. Thanks guys.
