Proof-'70 442, not w30, but factory OAI hood
Looked at a '70 442 for sale locally & he has a lot of the paperwork with it. Including this broadcast sheet with proof that it came from the factory as a non W30 442, but with the W25 forced air induction (OAI hood & air cleaner). I'd heard of cars like this, but this is the first proof I've ever seen. Looks like it was ordered/made as kind of a factory race car. 442 with OAI, bench seat, 4 speed, 3:42 posi rear, manual drums, & few options. He has most of the original parts, block, intake, alternator, muncie 4 speed, rear end, frame, etc.. Twilight blue with black interior & black stripes. Car is completely apart, but the rolling chassis is restored & nice. Body needs some floor/brace work, trunk pan work, pass quarter & inner wheel well work, but rest is pretty nice. This would be a neat car when done.![Cool](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)

I see nothing there to make that a factory race car, just a nice 4-speed 442.

Sorry, I'm mixing my terms, build sheet, broadcast sheet, similar, but different I guess. I know there are sometimes rectangular cards, are those broadcast sheets/cards?
By cars like this, I mean cars that supposedly came from the factory with the hood & air cleaner, but are not W cars. I guess I didn't know that you could get the hoods on a Cutlass S without it being a W car.
I also didn't mean factory race car, but a car probably ordered with street/strip racing in mind & set up nicely for that purpose.![Smile](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Current owner said it came with 4 wheel manual drums. The MC is still on the shell with no booster. I think it came standard with manual discs if you had a 4 speed 442 W30, but apparently not if it was just a 4 speed 442?

that is cool and sounds like a great car to have some fun with. I have heard of some Cutllii with the W25 hood but have never seen documentation to go with it. As mentioned many 442 non W cars came with the W25 hood though.

Correct. The W30 (and W31) had restrictions because the radical cams caused a lack of vacuum for the power brake boosters.

FWIW, about 1,000 Cutlass S cars came with them.

Yes, I'm on there and have been on some of the Wednesday meetings as well - just never seen a build sheet for a W25 Cutlass before
You'll find the documentation various places on Wild About Cars.

The original wheels are gone & in place are a set of 14" ss II's. Here is the link to the pictures I took.
He has E heads, doesn't think they are the original ones to the car, but the block, intake, alternator, dist?, trans, & rear end are all.
He is asking $8700.00 for it, but did say there is a little wiggle room. It would be a major project, but for the right person, would be a good car.
His number is 317-508-1752. His name is Chris. Seems like a real nice guy & knows Oldsmobiles pretty well. Tell him Scott/oldspackrat gave you the number.
