I don't know of any other countries that have something like this.

I have seen a few places on the tube where the border runs right through someones property. seems to be a lot along the Quebec _ U.S. border

I'm trying to improve myself if you must know. I was om google map walking through Old Montreal (at street level) and found myself at the border. I remember a street in Derby Line VT / Stanstead, QC named Canusa Street. The border runs right down the centre of the street. Neighbours across the street live in another country and this library is split between the two. I was trying to think how many other countries have a community on their borders. I mean one one family has a house where the bedroom and kitchen are in Canada and the living room and bathroom are in the US.

"Yes I have something to declare, hang on a minute!" No, you can move around freely. However, if you need to fix your roof, and your house is in both countries, you must hire Americans to fix the roof on the US side and Canadians to fix the roof on the Canadian side. PITA

That's a duty free zone.

Americans to fix the roof?
People hire citizens of Mexico to fix their roofs here.
