is the power steering pump interchangeable

previous owner attempted to put AC on this motor, added the power steering pump with the double pulley. I need to remove the double pulley, problem is, the double pulley pump has a longer shaft, I don't think I can put a single pullety on it. One junk yard said this pump was only a 68 to 71 and Cutlass only . Another yard said all GM's are the same .....question, what pump will fit on this "69 Cutlass, 350, with out AC ??????

First, we will need to know what letter stampings are on your crank, power steering. and water pump pulleys.

Pumps are all essentially the same from about '68 to somewhere in the late '80's ('90's for trucks), earlier '60's have a different tank design.

Some pre-'70 pumps may have a lower pressure relief valve, but this can just be swapped out - it's the big hex that the pressure line screws into.
Same thing for metric pressure line fittings from the early '80's onward - the relief valve has the metric thread, and earlier American thread valve will swap right in.

Shafts should be the same length. Just unscrew the nut with an air gun (counterclockwise to remove) and use an
adjustable tie rod end puller:
,
or an actual
pulley puller:

with the flat fingers in the groove just below where the nut went, to pull the pulley.
Don't lose the Woodruff key.
