poly strip discs

So I bought these 2-4.5" poly strip discs from home depot to try out on my floor pans. I was using a wire wheel to strip paint and rust so I can cut out and weld in patch panels in my floorboards. The wire wheels were taking forever to clean with. It seemed that it would smear the old paint and seam sealer and take forever to clean a small area. So I bought a couple of these poly strip discs and man oh man! Those things work awesome! Only problem is they cost 10 bucks a piece and last about 3 mins. Is my grinder too high of an rpm for these discs or have other guys had the same issues? I'm thinking about buying about 10 of them to strip my whole floorboard after I'm done welding and using a flapdisc on the welds. Those things work sweet. I just wish they lasted a little longer. You probably get about 3 square feet per disc and bam! It's toast. My grinder is a Dewalt 4.5" grinder at 11000 rpm. Maybe it's too much for em. Anyone else try these?

do you have an air compressor?if so they make small spot sandblasters your not setting there blasting away so air usage is pretty low a pancake compressor would work.

They are considerably cheaper at HF especially when on sale.

These work well for paint also.

I've used them.

Those are cool. I've never seen them before.

Here's a more detailed link.
