Plastic washer Oldsmobile Delta 88

Hello from Sweden
I have a quick question.
I have removed the engine and transmission from my Oldsmobile Delta 88, 1982 diesel.
I found this plastic washer and metal washer on the floor.
Does anyone know where it should fit..?
Linkage?
Starter?

How big are they?

The plastic washer could have been on the back of your alternator and fallen under the engine when the alternator was changed.

Thank´s for replying
No, not the alternator.
Washer is about 20 mm in diameter, cone formed and 4 mm thick

Backdrive linkage.
Do you mean the linkage for the gear shifter?
Could be there..
I first thought of the starter, but can find any natural place for it.
The hole in the washer is to big to fit.

Is the washer beveled? If yes I think it goes on that same rod but at the bottom at the transmission not at the top.

Looks like the trans. shift linkage washers. Is the spring still attached? I'm not sure it is the shift linkage as described in the following image but sure looks like the type washers. They may be different for different transmissions. Here's a couple links - they sure look like the shift linkage washers.

Yes, this seams like the right place for these washers.
Thanks a lot for the help!

Engine goes back in the car today

Shift linkage equalizer on this car, actually, and yes, it's the same as the backdrive linkage on a floor shift car.
