Plant production 1970
Hi, what months did GM (Linden NJ plant specifically - if this matters) build cars for the 1970 model year? My firewall data plate's date shows 12B which should be the 2nd week of December but is it Dec of 1969 or Dec of 1970?
Thanks

The production build dates for the '70 A-bodies at the Linden NJ plant probably ended early since it was converted to production of the newly redesigned B-body.
I remember taking a tour of the Linden plant back in the 80's when the E-bodies were being built there. It was thought the plant was shut-down for the tours, when all of a sudden the machines turned-on, workers started assembling dashes, paint sprayers started, and we had to walk between moving partially assembled cars. An array of classic BOP cars were parked in the lobby, including a Rallye owned by the president of the now defunct Rallye 350 Club.
Everyone got a very nice keychain commemorating the plant, which will be placed in my Linden built '70 442 when it is completed.
I wonder if the same was done at the Framingham MA plant where my brother's '71 442 was built?
