Piston rings

Got my 69 400 block back from machine shop. They told me to get moly rings, i guess it was honed for that? but can’t seem to find any in .030. Does anyone have a source?

Who have you checked with ? Also, just to be certain, stock thickness rings ? What part number pistons ?

Looks like Hastings 2M698 and Sealed Power E298K are both discontinued. You could probably use a Hastings 2M660.030 which is actually for a 3.905 bore and then file fit them ? I would try calling Hastings and ask them but their tech support has gone down the tubes lately. Might be tough to track some down

You could also try Egge but I am not sure what rings they sell and what the quality is.

I would definitely stick with Moly rings. Plain cast will work but will not wear as well. I am sure you can find a set with a little footwork. I can do some more checking as long as you arent is a huge rush. I think sealed Power has an obsolete warehouse I can check.
