All- we will be visiting the Phoenix area (Surprise) to visit my best man and his wife. We also may be doing an overnight stop in Tucson to see the air museum , although i understand the Boneyard tours are not available.
While the Super Bowl hype will be ongoing, are there any car events locally that week that we might catch?

Scottsdale Pavilions every Saturday afternoon / evening. Longest continuously running car show. Typically hundreds of cars of all kinds there.

I have no idea what goes on over on the West Side.

 

Sat. night cruise in 67th and Bell Road in Glendale (straight shot down Bell road from Surprise) in the Living Spaces parking lot next to Mixteca Mexican restaurant, dinner and a car show !! not as big as the Pavillions but usually a pretty nice turn out for west siders.
usually runs from about 4pm-8ish.
