passing of Oldsmobile icon?
Gerald Card the gent who created the controversial ad campaign "This is not your fathers Oldsmobile" has passed away at the age of 77. There are a few others that worked for Olds/Fisher totaling 6 this week who passed.

I often wondered WHY it came to be.
Kind of an insult to the previous cars.
Not as bad as Ford's "Have you driven a Ford lately?" though.
1) It says, sure we used to make really crappy cars, but now, less so.
2) Yes, I have driven a ford lately, '83 pickup at the time, and it was a fairly crappy vehicle. So, you might better not remind me.

In my case My love of Oldsmobile's (any car for that matter) started with my Grandfathers 1957 Olds Super 88 2 door hard top
so for me it was my Grandfathers Oldsmobile which he sold to my father which made it MY FATHERS OLDSMOBILE which was fine with me !! I loved that car !!
