Nope, but a '72 hood will be fine.

You could MAKE a '70 hood work, but not usually worth hassle, and it won't look right with your grilles.

Since the "does this fit" question comes up a lot, I'll again suggest Google Images as a way to get the answer very quickly. Note the shape of the leading edges of these two hoods:

1970

1971

hoods

i see what you are talking about. i thought or heard that there was one of the years that was all by itself and it is the 70. i like my style better no offense to the latter just my opinion. now maybe another stupid question but as far as the placement of the chrome hood inserts does it matter if they are located on the back portion of the hood or to the center more and on bothe sides of hood? the reason im asking is the 70 442 hood that i looked at had the inserts in the rear same as my 71 but obviously that hood would not fit mine. i hope im not confusing you.

thanks so much

1969 and 1970 Cutlass/442 hoods had the fake chrome louvers at the very back of the hood, oriented parallel to the rear edge of the hood. The 1971/72 hoods had them in the center and oriented parallel to the sides of the hood. The openings that the louvers bolt into are stamped into the hood and cannot be changed without lots of metal work.
