Parts shipment from UK to USA

Anyone know what the procedure is to ship parts via UPS from the UK to the USA? Some of the items are quite large. Maybe would have to be shipped as freight, instead of as a package.

Oh, yes......I almost purchased some parts from UK and lucky I pushed for a phone call. Naturally they didn't want to speak with me and never answered my multiple requests for a phone number for me to call. Instead they just kept sending repeated requests to send the money! They kept claiming they had other buyers, but were holding it for me. Yea right!

Hi & thanks to you and coltsneckbob for the info.
Funny thing about this is that this party claim's to have ALL the parts I'm looking for. I've posted my want list on the forum and got a few responses, but only for one or two items. This guy says he has it all. Made me wonder about it right away. Kinda figured this wasn't right, so won't go anywhere with it.
Thanks,
Stetzie

It is absolutely amazing how our UK friends have every obscure part for every American automobile ever built. I wonder how they fit those vast quantities of parts on such small islands?

He did send me his name and address. Don't know if I should post it here or not. For all I know right now, it may be legit.

Shipping UK to USA.

What exactly do want to ship?, I intend to take a vacation in the USA early next year, albeit in Texas - some way from Wisconsin. However once stuff is in mainland USA shipping is a breeze.
Maybe I could haul your parts for you. I know shipping small items (like a transmission for example) back to the UK can be a nightmare.
In "Classic American" magazine published in the UK several reputable carriers offer shipping services USA to UK and presumably can do the reverse.
Let me know more details and I will try to help.

stock AM-FM radio
2 ash tray inserts
fresh air vent louvers
60-40 6-way power front seat
cruse control parts (engine mounted parts w/linkage to carb)
w-washer bottle
have outside rear-view mirrors: need mounting pads for both sides
complete tilt and telescopic column w/rim blow steering wheel
This is what the guy in the UK says he has and will ship it all to me.
I have serious doubts about this. Think it may be a scam.
I'll get back to you on this once if I decide to go with it.
Thanks for your input and offer.

Depending on the year of your car (you don't state), some of those parts are available from places like Fusick, OPGI, Year One, etc.

Well, thanks for the info anyway.
Looks like Fusick might have some of the items I'm looking for.
Will call them and see if they are a match for my conver't.

I wouldn't have a problem with your list except for the seat & steering column.
It seems odd you can't find what you need at home but I'm happy to help if required.
Who are you dealing with in the UK?, I know most of the suppliers over here, like everywhere there are good, bad, & downright dishonest ones. The good ones stay in business.
Regards, Roger.

Peter Casey is the party's name.
Know of him? I can send the rest of the details privately, if you want it.
I would probably pass on the seat and steering column. If this party is legit, I would be interested in the rest of the items.Yes, I could probably find the seat and column closer to home, but he said he can ship the goods for a total of $540.00. Don't know how, but that is what he quoted. All in all, I may just pass on the whole thing because I don't feel comfortable with it.
