Parts cars

How many of you have a parts car , that you steal parts from for your project car? I always have one to 2 parts cars around, so I don't waste my time running and looking for parts , and gives me more time to work on my car. And then when I'm done, I can sale the parts car or the parts that are left. But this is getting harder, because everyone that's selling a Oldsmobile , thinks there car is a project car, since more aftermarket parts are coming to the market place, and many cars can be saved now. But I'm working on 73-75 cutlass now and not many parts are easy to find.

I had a totaled spare parts car for my project. A 71 with a dead body and dead frame.

I am working on a three cars so I always have two parts cars in the shop. It's quicker, and cheaper to pull the parts I need from these cars than it is to search the web like I used to. I've also saved a ton of money by doing this. And I sell everything I don't use to help make up the cost of the parts car.
I've taken the time to take apart my lastest parts car piece by piece, tagging all of the parts, including all of the nuts and bolts. I am hoping this helps me when looking for something. l hate digging through boxes of stuff that I forgot where they came from.

The real trick is getting a good complete parts car at a reasonble price.
Then for many folks, storage becomes an issue. Where do they park that ugly old parts car.

I keep mine in the back of the driveway. The body is on a rotisserie. I covered it in a large tarp. Everyone thinks I'm just storing my boat for the winter.

I used a Saws-all Angle grinder with cutting blades. I cut up a 65 Cutlass that the wrecking yard would not pick up.

The pics are not in order. I loaded half of the parts and took them to a steel scraper got $40 and another pile I got $45 so $85 total. No pink needed as long as they were in pieced not whole body. Lots of work took 5 days of work and some cuts but it is GONE. I have drums left if someone needs them.

I’d be interested. I’m looking for NS marked ones. I haven’t blasted the lowers yet but I suspect their pitted too.
ok but I must mention as I think they are different? Mine is a 68 442. Sorry

My 70's been dead for almost a year. It will soon be a parts car.

My 69 got chopped to bits and all parts boxed and bagged. It's great to have two of almost everything for the 68.

Parting a rotten 74 cutlass right now. I've used plenty off it with much more to go.

If you have a car that is not popular and not well supported, at least one parts car is a must. I've got parts cars for just about everything - a 62 F85 parts car, an early Vista parts car, a couple of A-body parts cars, and a couple of parts cars for the three 1985 Deltas. Oh, and then there are the trucks.
