This is the OEM fan clutch that I bought for my '72 Supreme and was wondering what the numbers mean. I see 4350788 which I assume is a part number, but I couldn't find anything on the innerweb. Also, it looks like 1 36 72 or 1 38 72. Is that some sort of date code?
the 4350788 should be the part number and the 1 36/38 72 is the julian date 136 or 138, 1972, which would be Monday May 15th or Wednesday May 17th 1972.

Puuuuuuurrrrrrrfect. Now you're ready for 1000 point resto!
One thing I've learned about fan clutches and how to instantly spot aftermarket vs GM is (generally), aftermarkets have open slots for the studs, and GM clutches have a full circular plate with 4 holes in it for the studs. I can't say never, but I can't recall ever seeing an aftermarket unit with the closed holes.

I'm not so much concerned about a concourse restoration as I am about originality and quality, so that's why I always try to go with OEM. I just got lucky with this one.
