Paint color for rims

Hi Guys
Just wondering if there is a hard and fast rule about factory rally rims paint color! I have a 1969 442 in Crimson Red but the rims are a dark Grey color!
we know the history of the car and it has been repainted once but still crimson red. I thought the rims where always painted the body color of the car?
Mine is a very highly optioned 442 as it has 4 speed/a/c /power windows/power antenna/ Rw blower/ am fm 8 track/black vinyl top /disc brakes front. not sure if any of that correlates to rim color?
I am completely redoing this car and want it right so any insight would be great!!

alll the 1968-"69 14x6.0" SSII wheels were argent gray

the first body color painted wheels were '70's Rallye 350 & pace cars & it became an option for '71

Awesome thanks! That's perfect. It looks good with the Argent Grey rims so I am glad it is correct!
Thanks Again!
