All 1968-72 A-bodies use the same heater box on the firewall.

Can anyone recommend how far to go with rebuilding the heater box inside the car and A/C box in the engine compartment? Specifically, is there a place to buy the rubber gaskets on the flapper doors and a new blower cage? And should I tear the entire heater box down and clean the parts? This is a resto mod so not a show car but I would like to clean out as much as i can since I found a bunch of leaves in the blower section and the cage is all rusty. Thanks for everything.

I guess another variation on the question is, my inner and outer heater box are original on the car (350 convertible) but I put a 455 in the car. I'm looking to replace the heater core and other air conditioning parts like evaporator etc. According to multiple application guides, a Spectra Heater Core - 94532 is a replacement part and is compatible with a 69 chevelle or 69 cutlass 5.7L engine but says it is not compatible with a 442 7.5l. So my question is, should i be buying parts for the 442 7.5L motor or a Cutlass convertible 5.7L motor? Thanks in advance.
