Original Owner - 1970 442
Was at my friend's Shell station this morning filling up the gas can for the mower. I have my Olds 442 tee shirt on, and an older gentleman walks up to me and says " I own a 1970 442". This tee shirt is a great conversation starter.....
He proceeds to tell me that he bought it brand new in Ohio in 1970, as his father worked for GM. It's a Matador Red hardtop with black interior and stripes. OAI car with T400....but the best part is that it is a column shifted car with bucket seats.....
He is now in Mass., and drives the car in good weather. He told me that the car with the GM employee discount was about $3600.
I have seen the car at local cruise nights, but never met the owner.
Not many folks have kept their first car.
