Opinions wanted please + or - ...my car & Hurst wheels?
A little background;
My car was bought as a hobby to drive, enjoy and have fun with. I've found that showing it at shows is fun to me. I enjoy showing it off and talking to other car folk about their cars. I'm not chasing trophies but if they come my way...I'll take em. My true enjoyment comes from driving it though,so it will never be a true show car, even after it gets painted.
I've always loved the look of the Hurst wheels and always thought(for many, many years),someday I'll have that look. A set of reproductions are within my grasp.
How do you think they would look on my gold 71 cutlass S?
If your offering a positive, should I stick with white lettered tires? or would redlines look good? I'm not sure about redlines with gold paint.
Would I still be able to enter show classes for stock vehicles?
thanks for any input ,positive or negative

Obviously, it's whatever you like that matters, but I think Hurst wheels are awesome...that being said, I've only seen them on 60's GM a-bodies(Cutlass/442 or GTO), but I'm sure they would look great on your car! As for the redlines, I like them on '60s cars.....

If you can swing the cost, do it. They'll look their best with pinstripe whitewalls or redlines, or even blackwalls, but to me Hurst wheels don't look right with RWL tires unless the lettering is very small. They also look weird to me on anything lower profile than a 70 series tire. But on that Saturn Gold car, they WILL look good.
Depends on the show whether they'll let you show in a stock class. I'd have no problem with it b/c most cars back then lost the factory wheels the second day.
If they weren't so expensive I'd rock a set on my Starfire in a minute.

I had a set on a 65 GTO that I owned many years ago. I loved the way they looked. I
think they would look great on your car. Maybe someone that is good with Photoshop could doctor up a pic of your car with the Hurst wheels grafted into the picture to give you a better idea of how they would look on your car. If I ever get around to
restoring my 67 Vista Cruiser, I would love to get a set of Hurst wheels with redlines for it.

nope, not really a case of big bucks, just a dream of many, many years finally coming true.
For 20 years of being with the same Woman,I've always saved my pocket change...with the agreement between us that if the Family is in good shape,I could use the money to buy myself something special and hobby related, when the time was right. The time has arrived! thanks to my pocket change LOL.

My car is pretty much the same. A car I show, not a show car. I say do what feels right. Experiment a little. My car has an OAI hood. My original hood is only four bolts away. But for now, I like the different hood. People sometimes ask "Is that original?" I say no, but add "It's an Oldsmobile design." I say buy them. Not sure how RWL would look with them, but I love RWL with the SSII's and III's. Have fun. If you get them, make sure you post pictures.

These are the rules guys...live by them
1. Any kind of factory wheel on a muscle car looks great with RWL
2. Any kind of aftermarket mag wheel looks bad with RWL
3. Cragar S/S is the only exception to rule #2
