Open Face Alternator question

Are there any alternator experts that can tell me if these numbers are real or re-stamped? Thanks in advance

The area around restamps usually has a different texture or level.

Here, the texture under the stamp matches both the surrounding texture and the texture on the adjacent alternator half.

The surface curvature near and under the stamp appears uniform. There is no sign of leveling from grinding off old numbers.

I'm just being logical; but it's no guarantee.

However, those are good signs of its being an original stamp.

I have several of these (mostly w/o stamps = over the counter service dept replacements as those did not come stamped), but that stamp looks correct to me.

Ali, I believe that your example is not a restamp. Based on my personal experiences, it looks legitimate to me with an unbiased approach. Good luck with it regardless of your intentions.

This alternator is correct for a 1969 442, I believe.

Nice example
