one horrible day

Ouch... Unfortunately, this is part of the hobby... The worse it gets at this stage makes the personal satisfaction part that much higher when it is done. Call it quits, have a beer, and continue the next day. Now if the entire car disappears when stripping it, then that's a different story!

I agree take a break, breath deeply have a beverage and relax. Your energy will come back and you go back to work on the car. I am replacing parts of the floor in my 48 olds. Found more cancer then I noticed when I bought the car, but I am learning how to weld sheet metal so alls not bad. I have taken several breaks on this car and am a year behind schedule, but will "get'er done" this year I hope. Keep us posted on your project sometimes it helps just to talk about it.

It's great that you know someone with the skills and tools to do the this keep us posted on the progress. Can't tell you how many times I have cut out my own welding learning the sheet metal thing. I refuse to give up. I think you have the same attitude.

MITU, Most of the problems I have found with previously owned cars have been a result of an improper repair, total incompetence, carelessness or the use of low quality / wrong parts. And 99% of all the total oddball, head-scratching, stumper problems are the results of above.
SOunds like you are a victim of it, also. However, when you do it right this time, it will be better than factory fresh and should last even longer!
