Oldsmobiles In Local Car Show
I went to a local car show today sponsored by the war vets. We are quite lean on Oldsmobiles in my town. There were three total (Two others and mine). I took these pictures:
1972 Cutlass

1970 442 W-30 Matador Red

Mine: 1970 442 Rally Red, but it always looks like several shades of orange when I take it in direct sunlight.

I was happy to see that many Oldsmobiles in one show around here!

We had the Medford Cruise in this weekend and yesterday I wandered through the rows of cars. I believe about 500 cars were there. I counted four Oldsmobiles, 1965 Cutlass convertible, 1970 SX (nice!) 1972 442 (also very nice) and a flamed 1973ish Hearse. My buddy had a 1969 Z28 in high school so that's what he was looking for... we may have seen a dozen 1969 Camaros! But that's one of the reasons I like Olds. They're not cookie cutter cars that everybody has.

I can enter any show in my area and guarantee my Delmont 88 will be the only one in attendance. In fact I've only seen one other in a show in Kissimmee. It's almost like having a one of a kind!

So it's not just local then. Got back from a show today with over 300 vehicle's, and there were 6 Oldsmobiles. 2 - 68 Cutlasses one convertible, 1-1972 Cutlass, 1-1984 Cutlass Supreme, 1-1980 442 and mine.

your rallye red 442 is awesome,it has the perfect stance.
The Matador Red W-30 was an interesting creature. It did not have the 344.....vin# that the 1970 442's are supposed to have. The tail lights had the chrome inserts that the Cutlass Supremes had that year. The car was used for drag racing in its heyday. I am wondering if it is actually a W32 with the 442 & W30 badges added later. As I understand it, you could get the W32 option on a F85 back then. I hope someone can fill me in with a little more about the W32 option, which you don't hear about as much as the W30.
