65' 2 dr. post drag car with a complete Olds engineering W-31 blue printed driveline, 4 speed. The driveline I bought through "Olds Salvage" for $450 in spring of 69'. Had only $2000 in the whole car! Raced it all of 69' and spring 70' every weekend at Onadaga. Ran 12:60 ET at 109 mph all day long. Cheap to run and fun car to drive. Put a 6 cyl. ch**y and 3 spd in it I bought thru salvage and sold it to an East Lansing college student for $1,200!
68' f-85 ram rod ex-Smothers Bros. factory drag car in E/S (bought in 71' rebuilt in 73') Raced from 73-78.
70' f-85 W-31 auto "brass hat car", last W-31 auto built 6/5/70 and I got to see it go down the assembly line both at Fisher and Lansing Assembly. Only one built with "Buckskin interior" !!!!! Totaled out in a towing accident going to an NHRA national event and now in Olds heaven.
70' 442 W-30 factory drag car that I ran in 71-72 as a 71 and 72 model year as a W30 and std. 442
72' Cutlass S post fatory drag car with SBO power, 4 speed, ram air in M/S, triple black, only had for 6 months.
72' Supreme convert factory drag car with a 468 310 HP that I ran in M/SA and then SS/0A
2 - 70' s I bought in 1988 from Ron Gary, one was a W-30 auto and the other was a std. 442 up dated to a 72' model year as a 320 or 310 HP 468 BBO that ran in G/SA and H/SA. The W-30 I get to see once in awhile as I sold it to a friend of mine and he is restoring it.

How about EVERY Olds (except some four door parts cars) I ever owned. Everbody used to ask me why I sold such neat cars and my standard answer was " So I can get the next one". Looking back, I have had some neat cars and even some promos that my dad got me when I was just a little kid. The promos were sold after a pocket-emptying divorce and out of everything, I think I miss them the most.

I never had any "designer" Oldsmobiles. Mine always were "salt of the earth" Olds. Two I would like back were a 1960 ,Dynamic, 371 engine. It was clean as a pin and the engine was so quite, one couldn't tell it was running. Next was a 1969 Cutlass, very clean also. Very nice car. Hopefully I will soon be "missing" one of my 1967 Olds 98 Ls'. Later, Ken

I donated my 1974 Cutlass Supreme to the Red Cross and bought a 93 Bonneville with a supercharger. Worst move i ever made in my whole life. Within 6 months, i donated the Bonneville to the same charity and i bought a 77 Cutlass Supreme. I still miss my 74.

I've never sold one. Had one wrecked for me while it sat in the driveway but I've never sold one. I don't think I ever will

WAIT! I did have a '70 SX parts car once that I scrapped before I knew what an SX was...that was a big mistake, and one I wish I could get back.

'70 SX, first nice car that I owned, traded my '68 Delta Custom in as a down payment...I was suprised that they took it in on trade, as it was sucking oil about as fast as you could pour it in.

I really miss my 76' 442.. It was by far the most fun I've ever had in a car. Swivel buckets, and a built up 455. Here's a pic with my 84. Had to sell it cause I got laid off back in 09 . However, the gentleman that bought it from me restored it to concourse quality. From what I hear some $35k into it when it was all said and done.. I sure do miss it..

Re. Oldsmobiles I wish I'd never sold

I never thought of myself a an Olds guy but in counting up more than 50 cars I've owned I count 4 Oldsmobiles.

Kind of wish I still had:
1939 Olds sedan. My very first car, purchased for $35. in 1954. Nothing about the car was remarkable, just nostalgia.

1965 Cutlass Convertible with 330 and 2 spd trans. White on white on white. I did some restoration and it looked sharp but I never liked the 2 speed transmission. Still, it did look great and was one of the few cars I've owned that has probably gone way up in value from when I sold it 15 years ago.

Olds I don't miss:
1956 4 dr. hardtop. Bad choice for a college student car. The gas mileage and maintenance costs made me realize I should send it on down the road. I traded it for a Borgward Isabella TS (look it up).

Olds I will keep:
47 model 66 Convertible that is currently a street rod project due to be finished in about 2 years. It will have warmed up 455/7004R with GTO rear and MII front. I can hardly wait to get it driveable.

The only two Oldsmobiles I ever sold were an '84 Delta 88 and an '85 Toronado. They were both nice cars, but I doubled my money on both of them. I've been thinking about finding another mid-'80s Toronado and doing a 455 conversion...

If I had the money I would love to buy my 66 back and build the 500hp 455 for it I collected parts for but never got to build.

Wish I never sold my '63 Dynamic 88 Fiesta Wagon....42,000 original owner miles. Unfortunately, didn't have indoor storage and the original paint started failing , so had to say goodbye

I would like the '69 442 hardtop 4 speed back. What a solid project car that one was.

The only one I regret selling is my 69 442 W32. Chrimson red with black interior. It was bucket seat column shift. I still keep an eye out for it inall the for sale sights and papers.

Soon to be a " I wish I never sold"

Hello all,

I'm selling my fathers 73 Delta 88, Great condition garage kept. I moving across the country and unable to take with me. My mother needs the garage space so I can't keep there. All original parts. New radiator, water pump, starter, carb, alternator, plugs & wires, cap & button, fuel tank, sending unit, brakes and tires. Very clean interior. Top is very clean but cable to move top has broken and door panels will need light work. For some reason I can't post pics here. Feel free to email me for pics or call. I'm a real person and hate to sell. michaelburks@gmail.com or 336-899-0399 I will be moving next week and have to move.
