Oldsmobile The Performance Years

I'm am looking for a copy of "Oldsmobile the Performance Years". I believe that is was published by Quicksilver Publications back in the late 70s or early 80s. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

There are a couple for sale on Amazon right now. They're not cheap, though, at $146 per. How badly to you want one?

Alibris has it for the same price. [Edit added later: This is the same book as one of the two Amazon vendors as it's the same vendor advertising on two sites.]

Here's a site with two. One for the same price as the above (same vendor as above again), but the other for only $50. You might want to jump on it.

What kind of store?

I imagine most used book sellers know what they have and aren't going to sell for $20 a book that's worth $150. But you might occasionally run across an antique mall or perhaps a yard sale where the seller isn't aware of what they have.

I don't see how the fact that someone has the book priced at nearly $150 means its WORTH that much.

FTW, I PMed you a link to someone selling it for about a third as much.

I have a book called Oldsmobile Muscle Cars from Motorbooks International, by William Holder & Phillip Kunz, 1994. Not sure where or when I got it, but may be easier to find without spending the big bucks.

This book is on Amazon, too. It's a lot cheaper at $38.99 used.

Thanks to everyone for the info as well as the links. As much as I would like to get another copy (misplaced mine) I am not going to pay highway robbery prices for this book. I will keep looking!

Holy Hell! $146.00?? I just got it at a book store, but that was back in 85-86. If I run into one, I will keep you in mind.

Since you live in the DFW area, you might try giving Half-Price Books a call, you never know, they might have it.

I bet you could create a "favorite search" on Ebay to alert you when one shows up...just about EVERYHTING does there, eventually.

Here's the cover, for those who are curious:

Apparently you can now sell it for $150! Think of the return on your investment!

Found One

After looking almost daily since I posted this thread my copy came in the mail today. I paid $15.00 plus $3.47 for shipping. Yes I got it from Ebay. It does have some shelf wear but other than that it is in good condition considering its age. I also picked up a copy of "Racing to the Past Oldsmobile and its Demise" by Dale Smith.

I think I paid $8.95 when I bought mine new back in 1983. I still have it. Found another one for $5.00 at the Lansing Homecoming a few years back. The 68 Hurst Olds page print is a bit defective otherwise it is ok with slight shelfwear. Yeah I just checked the front cover and on the top right hand corner is $8.95. Quicksilver - Author is Martyn L. Schorr - on back cover Motorbooks International Publishers and Wholesalers Inc. Osceola Wisconsin 54020, USA.
