Greetings. One of the things my wife and I enjoy is flea markets. We went to one earlier today and I found this: My question: ballpark figure on what it’s worth? How can I tell if it’s a reproduction or one of the real deal clocks that hung in showrooms? It has a very old electric cord? It’s advertised as working, but I didn’t want to bother pulling it off the shelf and risk breaking it until I had some idea of what it’s worth. Thanks.
I don’t know if there is any wiggle room in the asking price. Before I start wheeling and dealing I was curious what I should lol for and ballpark figure of what it’s worth
I should have looked to see how much dust had settled on it, maybe it’s been there awhile. If so, hopefully they will be a little more motivated to part with it
Worth about 250-300 tops because of condition, which is not terrible. Only reason I would say that much because of rarity. A Coke clock in this condition, somewhat less.
I could enjoy it immensely as is. I would much rather have it as is, than have a poorly restored or poor quality replacement face as replacement such as the example on Ebay. If you couldn't enjoy one in this condition, find a better one and pay more.
The PAM clock is reproduced in its entirety today. Inspect the backside very well as you want the backside to have the original doors to access the bulbs and such. The backside should look old with scratches and wear. Some of the newer ones have pressed board as a backing with a new movement sticking out the back. I've seen some for big bucks and the backside is brand new.
