I may still have some misc paperwork from Rockcastle and will check it and post it.
Almost bought a new 83 HO there, as I used to pass it everyday and lived 1/2 mile from there.

Murph
that is very cool any info appreciated. I google earth street view the old address and it is long torn down with some apartment building or something there now. Any info or pictures of Rockcastle would be appreciated. Someday when I get back to Kentucky I’ll have to search the shops or hit up the Hostorical society on the dealership. Matt
Matt,
the dealer code in 1970 was 09-729
i believe they started out on Madison Ave in Covington Ky then moved to Florence Ky on Industrial Rd around 1979-80. Haven’t been out that way in sometime.
The old place was a used car lot for awhile, then became remodeled inside for bar / nite clubs under different names over the years. It was pretty run down last time I was past there a few yrs ago.
I did find this envelop that I would be more than happy to send you. Just send me a pm with your address and I will get it to you no cost involved. Just glad it will be going to a good home!
By the way, what yr Olds do you have?
And next time I get out that way, I will take a few pics of it currently for you.
Thanks

Ok will pm you tonight the car is a 1968 442. That change to Florence messes me up and is why I think the dealership building is gone. The car is a real 442 but because the original motor is gone I took liberties and am going a tad bit further on the OEM restoration putting w30 specs into it. Seriously though thank you to the bottom of my heart and if you ever see any Rockcastle stuff I’d be very interested in it!!!!!!!👍 matt
I noticed that loads of dealers have a year beside their name. What does the year designation denote exactly?
The guy that's populating the list wanted the year of the car that was sold. The dealerships will change names but codes may not. Also dealers come and go over the last 50 years of production.
Thought that I had submitted this info previously but is not included in your spreadsheet. New car purchase (1967 442) invoice and POP indicates:
Black Chevrolet Olds. Inc.
213 Jefferies Blvd.
Walterboro, South Carolina
Dealer No. 16-079
While looking at your spreadsheet, noticed a Black Cad-Oldsmobile Inc. in Greensboro, NC, dealer number 16-077, wonder if it may be the same family ownership.
Any chance you may have an original tag frame or dealer emblem from 1967. We have a 67 442 conv, that was sold new at your dealership. It was also one of the cars you had in the Muscle Car Review Magazine
I believe I may have talked with you or someone who knows you and the car before! That's the Cameo Ivory vert with Power windows & Seat, TH400, AM-FM...I sold it in 1993. That car actually did not come from our dealership; I purchased it from a private party in Cary, NC in 1984. I'll look and see if I have any more license frames. I do know I have a few front license plates left.
Cooper Motor Sales INC (1968) 1505 Ponce De Leon Blvd
Coral Gables FL
26-210
Cooper was forced out of business and closed in 1990. The property is now an undeveloped green space.
In 1953, The dealership was at 1607 Ponce De Leon Blvd (from a dealer postcard)
B&b oldsmobile rochester ny fincher olds rochester ny butterworth olds spencerport ny philanz olds rochester ny
My Parents used to buy their cars from Philanz so given the opportunity to have Dave Snyder do a series of paintings I had to include them. The cars in the painting are mine at the time except the Toronado in the background it was a car my father ordered but didn't take
I found the Philanz dealer script at a swap meet and stuck it on the back of my '73 Delta 88. It wasn't sold there, but I put it there, anyway, because Philanz has some memories for me.
Missing the "I" in "ACCESSORIES," but hey!
I like this full-page newspaper ad from Friday, September 13, 1957. Photo of Phil Lanzatella, for whom the dealership is named, at upper right.
Look carefully at the two rows of salesmen near the bottom. The third one from the left in the first row, Pat Dierna, was my father's cousin. Over the course of his life, my father bought eight Oldsmobiles, six of them from Philanz. He always said, "if you're going to be gypped by a car dealer, it might as well be family!"
Note that there was a grand opening "ceremony" and that it was televised. When's the last time a car dealer did that?
Just remembered that I bought my 2nd Olds at Shaull Olds, York, PA
1960 Super 88 convertible I loved that car, even after it was stolen the day after I graduated from nursing school in 1968. It was recovered, but pretty messed up - luckily, my tool box and a floor jack were still in the trunk. Its replacement was my first 1966 Toronado, and now my 2nd Toro is a prize-winning beauty.
Andreas Olds - interesting in that my family name is Andreas, mostly in Lehigh Valley of PA
That's my closest Olds dealer for most of my life. It started as Grand Ledge motors, then it was purchased by Starnanman and moved 3 miles east on Saginaw hwy. Still Grand Ledge. It was purchased by Andreas by the early 70's and must have been annexed to Lansing, And then was purchased by Crippen around 76 and renamed Regency. Sometime in the mid 90's was named Crippen. My Bravada leased and purchased an Alero at Crippen, I still have the Alero.
