That's the "Heavy Chevy" stripe. It is ugly and a lame attempt to add side stripes to compete with the wide w30 side stripes.

I think that Chevy stripe is correct for the 69'. I've never seen it on a 71'. Doesn't really fit that "squared off" nose style. BTW Rob you have an unfair advantage, your car has way more character than any 70 -71 Chevelle. And it's not because I'm bias being an Olds lover. the chevelle is wearing the correct 71 "heavy chevy" stripe.. its a sticker and hood appearance package like a Rally 350

even though looks like I'm doing ok against the Chevelle - a slam dunk can be assured if ya'll would do me the honor of getting even more votes
