That intake looks like a steal at $750 if it is not cracked.

Today the high topped out at 93 degrees, 89% humidity, lots of sun. It actually was heat stroke weather in the swap meet area (black top parking lot). Later about 15:30, a thunder boomer hit and cooled things down. A walk in the parking lot after dinner was comfortable.

Thanks so much for the post. As always so much to comment on. Fiesta's kick serious butt. Love them all. Is that white ragtop a 57? That 57 hardtop is also dream material. That green 70 drag car is just awesome. The gold W-30 is bad *** too. Is that true about less than 200? I swear I recognize that Colorado 442.

That 57 olds 98 looks like royal glow pink over white just like my 57 super 88. Never seen another one in the same color scheme.

A 1971 Cutlass S with RPO Y73 Hood Paint Stripes. And it hasn't been turned into an ersatz "W30". Very nice.

The really neat thing is that there are two of them in this photo.

Correct, the convertible is a 442, also without a repro W25 hood for a refreshing change.

Quite a difference in the increase of vendors and the number of show cars today. By Friday it should be packed.

I left Murfreesboro today at noon. Bad weather was in the forecast. It took 6 hours to drive 231 miles. I am not kidding. Rain the entire trip and north of Chattanooga the water in one place was over the highway which caused just one of the standstill traffic situations encountered along the expressways. There was one accident after the other causing nothing but a sideshow if one calls it for what it was—so grateful to be at home!

To the rest of you, SAFE PASSAGE on the highways…..

I am in the #20 section ( Driver) spot # 16. I plan to be there on and off all day - too hot to just stay out there. I hope to see some of you CO guys- Cincinnati Rick, I remember you from Gettysburg- hope to see you here, Rick.

It really has been a great time and not over yet. Went with probably 150 people on buses to Grand Old Opry last night- great time. Yeah weather has been oppressive, but cool inside. Our 71 Cutlass made 700 mile trip down no troubles glad I restored/ repaired a/c, would have been unbearable without. Yes a lot of great people here, It' always fun to strike up a conversation from a complete stranger who shares the love of old cars- Olds cars in particular! Tonight is the awards banquet, after that is over we will stay another night, then leave Sunday morn for Michigan.
I believe a car that was made to be traveled in/ enjoyed should be, but I know that once a car gets too nice or is rare/ultra valuable then I understand it being a "trailer queen" , that is just not for me. But to each his own, I sure enjoy looking at the show cars.

Greg,
I agree with your comments. While my car is restored, I don't own a trailer. To drive a 70-442 w/4 speed at high RPM's on an interstate for several hrs would be impractical, hence the reason I did not bring it. I drive my car every couple weeks, but not long distances. Your car would be great to take on a trip as I am guessing it might have a lower rear gear ratio than some 442's and a better driver for the interstate. Awesome that you were able to drive it and allow it to be seen as well.

I had a chance to look over the 72 survivor. It was about to rain and it was early, hood was closed but from what I was able to see, looked like all original paint and the read deal. My wife glanced at it and made the comment, "you should buy it, by the time ours is done you'll be too old to enjoy it" She maybe right.

I dig that 65 442 F85 club coupe too. Just begging to be done right!

Any idea what the final car count was?

I read somewhere it was 178. It sure seemed like there were more.

I don't want to close this thread, how about we stick to admiring the cars and leave the witty conversation out.

I am looking. The same person selling the 72 has a 83 Hurst Olds survivor as well that I may consider a trip to look at. Just can't bring myself to but something that I can't look over myself and it's located in Canada
