Olds 88!
Not a good custom. I try to follow the custom car trends/hobby and read the magazines and this is unlike any I have ever seen. Too many square angles, terrible proportions, wrong front suspension for an open hood car (those upper A arms are hideous). I will say that the paint does appear original and reflects the phycodelic 70s well. There are just way too many things wrong with that car to make it desirable to anyone but a collector looking for an original 70s custom (which it appears to be).

Dan, I agree with what you say in principle, but I take a much broader view of this. Not all of our automotive history is "high end" works of art. And "high end" almost always translates to "expensive". There were many more backyard type things done. Taking the '70s for example there were the elaborate murals on vans, and wild paint like spiderwebbing and such even on musclecars.
If the seller expects big money, then yes, it is expecting too much. But as an inexpensive buy, it has its place in the collectors arena.
That thing is just ugly enough to draw alot of attention at a show.Face it most of the customs today all look the same. No it's not a great custom but somebody probably didn't spend Tens of Thousands of dollars to create it.I think I'd drive it ,It's so ugly people have to look at it.
He didn't answer my email and I see they're still dirty.....ok tried to help. If he calls back, you get dibbs on the motor and tranny buddy. I'm still tryin to figure how to put this thing back to original when he calls, might need some help ok??? I don't need no more stinkin Barris repros .....Already got dibbs on the Toro for 249,000.00 Waitin on them to see if they'll accept my other claims for discounts and wall mounting & delivery challenge.
I could have a Jay Leno alternate hanging in my foyer!! (might have to chop holes in the side wall to make the tail fins fit right though)
I know what the Toro is missing it needs to be tubed out. The big tires would make it look right. Big blower sticking out of the hood. Do you think the guy who built the Dy-no-mite was a fan of the tv show Good Times. I could see J.J. driving it.
