You can just pull the spark plugs, drop some oil in the cylinders, and wing it over with the starter motor for a minute or two (in 20-30 second bursts), until the oil gauge reads a good pressure, then maybe a little bit more for good measure - no disassembly, and no extra trouble.

On any car that's been sitting, I at least pull the coil wire and crank it till I get oil pressure, then reconnect and add fuel.

Hey there Eric, I could'nt wait to get any parts... so I connected to my other car, it barely cranked, whilst I was cranking her over, I sprayed WD-40 like spray for a minute or two into the carb, then, the put 1/4 cup of fuel that was a 40:1 mix, cranked a bit more then She came alive, running on the old fuel. I let her run (without reving up very high, below 1,500rpms) for 45 minutes. the fuel pump leaked for a few minutes then the leak stopped, after moving her around the drive, the guage showed 1/4 tank of fuel, it did say 5/8ths, so that is good, the tranny slips a bit though. I plan on replacing all that stuff any ways. She still sounds awesome... even with just a 260.

when i started her again, she was still super stiff, but I am looking to replace with a 403 this summer, Woohooooo!!!
