Bump....

I'm also curious about this as these 2 *seem* to be closest to the original factory spec which is (near as I can tell)

80 psi
0 Ohms @ 0 psi
70-105 Ohms @ 80 psi

Can anyone confirm/refute these specs ?
Or provide other part numbers that work w/ facory gauges ?

This place should have a sending unit that functions correctly.

I wish they did.

I've had good luck with them for wiring. They don't show any oil senders, just temp senders.

I just picked up a BWD S769. It was cheap, local, & the only one that I could find the PSI/Ohm specs for. It specs at 0-~80 Ohms for 0-60 PSI which has about the same profile as the 0-105 Ohms for 0-80 PSI that I was looking for (~ 25 Ohms/20 PSI )...it just won't read above 60 PSI...

The PS157 shows the same 0-60 PSI / 0-90-ish ohms as the S769 AND I found an old crossreference listing the PS157 as a direct replacement for 66-78 Oldsmobile w/gauges.

The S768 list at 80 PSI, but has no ohm specs....

I'll experiment and report...

Anyone have any definite specs as to what the gauges want ohm-wise ?

The ps 157 unit I have is an 80 psi. The 60 psi sending units I tried (all I find) all read lower, which made sense. I thought the measurements I took showed the psi/ohms to be close. I did not keep the notes I took (got tossed out). I wanted try other sending units to see if they all caused my factory gauge to move in steps vs a smooth sweep. The testing I did with a meter, gauge with bech test setup using air and adj. pressure gauge showed this step condition with all of the sending units I tried, so I suspect the issue is with my factory gauge. But, I read a blog where a Vett owner had the same issue, after installing a new sending unit. After the old unit was re-installed the step condition went away. I tried extra grounds etc with no luck. I have a flutter issue as well when the lights are turned on (no not all the time.., so I suspect its just a bad gauge or an electrical issue. I need to try a another electrical oil gauge in the spring. It would be interesting to see if a factory sending unit fixed the issues...
(Update - It was just a bad oil gauge unit...sending unit was fine and worked fine, replaced the oil gauge.., fixed the flutter issue...)
