Offenhauser 5705 Dual Quad High-Rise Intake

Anybody know anything about this manifold besides what is on the web? I'm not sure if it's a new style or not, there's definitely no pictures to be had. I'm thinking of getting one, got a low-rise Edelbrock now but I'm looking for reason to cut out the fake louvers on my fiberglass hood. Thanks.

I have this manifold on a 425 in my 67 442 conv. I used 2 Carter 500's on it. I put this manifold on the engine when I rebuilt it so I could not evaluate any increase or decrease in performance. For my application it seemed to work well but my engine had a 590 lift cam, 10.5 compression, ported heads, 466 rear gears. My engine idle was about 1000 rpm due to cam. It fit under the hood with about 2 to 3 inches of clearance. My plan was to siamese 2 toro air cleaners together and install ram air but that never happened. I cannot say yay or nay for your application but there is a cool factor. I did have to create a strange rod for the accelerator to work the throttle.

Joe, you have any pictures of it? I like to see it if possible. I guess it's not that high if you can close the hood, have to add some spacers. My set up is , 11:1 compression, ported heads, .589 lift with 1.7 rockers, gears will be 3.90 and the carbs I have are the 750 competition series, got them, might as well try them. I pulled a 330 out so I guess I'll notice a change. Thanks.

I believe this is it...
Oldsmobile: 400-455 Dual Quad Hi-Rise Intake (5705)
http://www.offyparts.com/product_inf...roducts_id/962

Dual Quad 360? Equa=Flow Manifold for 400-425-455 Oldsmobile engines. $681.31

Over fifteen years ago Offenhauser broke away from the old 180? and introduced a 360? design manifold which other manufacturers are now following.

You get full benefit of improved fuel passages on every single stroke, there is no down time with a 360? - your engine operates at full capacityall times. S0-called 180? manifolds operate on a part time basis due to the fact that one side of the manifold is down while fuel is delivered to the other side of the engine.

Exclusive plenum chamber design of Offenhauser 360? Equa-Flow Manifold wipes out flat spots in all RPM ranges. Gives you smooth . . . unrestricted fuel flow . . . continuously. Each cylinder receives equal fuel flow without interruption or oscillation. You get vibration-free smoothness and power rammed distribution through balanced efficency. Hands you more power off the line . . . a fantastic top end improvement. Dyno, Street-Strip Proven. Test results show a 20 H.P. increase at 6500 RPM over competitive manifolds. Dimensions: Pad Height 4-3/16" FR, 5-3/16" RR

This product was added to our catalog on Wednesday 26 October, 2005.

Thanks Jaybird, I've seen that and I think it's a generic pic. The same is shown for the low-rise version. I attached a pic of the Buick version from Summit. Looks like a high-rise. The Olds version is $522 at Summit. Ouch.
The high-rise for the small block Olds looks like a high-rise.
