to be or not to be?
Here is the question. Have a 1965 f85 deluxe sedan four door. Was bought originally for the frame to use to restore a 1965 coupe 2 door. Well long story short sedan turns out better shape then coupe. Now do we forget the coupe restore sedan. Or continue with idea of turning it into a coupe by cutting off the roof and back window area and replace with the roof line and rear area recreating the coupe .Have discovered everything the same on both cars but that rear section .only modification looks like at the front section of the rear wheel wells. So I believe can be done but the question should it be. Have 330 high compression engine still from coupe also to replace the 330 low in sedan. How rare are these f85 deluxe sedans any way?

It's a nice car. Why wreck it?
You won't get paid for any of the work you're considering when you sell the car - the value difference between the two body styles just isn't that great.

Thanks for your responce. I know I'll never get what I'll put into it. It is a father son project. And the idea was a muscle car lifted rear hood scoop . Tail spoiler basicly tricked out. Far from original. But ya taking something in nice shape and destroying don't really feel good about that either. Not a blues brothers kind of guy as my son would put it. Lol. If I knew that this sedan was becoming rare id be more geared towards a restore .

Don't cut up the sedan. Here's an idea. Put the hi-comp engine in the sedan, and you and your boy can have fun with it, on a budget. Neither of those cars will ever be worth much of anything, and you won't get back what you put in, so the solution is just to not care about concours restoration. Hotrod that engine, teach him some mechanical hotrodding stuff, drive the hell out of it, and have good times. Once you're done with it, and he's serious about old cars, then get a 442 in good restorable shape down the road for a serious resto.
Cars in ok shape are a lot like guns in ok shape, sometimes they're more fun than the ones in great shape, because you don't care as much about them. 500 bucks in go fast parts with that other 330 will be fun.
