newbie with 57 firewall decoding help!

I apologize in advance if this is the wrong part of the forum for this question. we have a deposit down on a 57 fiesta hardtop wagon. was wondering if someone could help decode the firewall. I was able to locate the VIN decoder online. the first four digits are 578C which I guess means a 57 super 88 built in Southgate. here are the firewall numbers

1957 DOD DHW
Body 8129
Trim 380 KG
Paint 61-61-10
ACC 1 UT U4

any help would be great! once we get the car back ill post some pictures of it. looks to have the J2 tri power option. not sure how rare that is on a fiesta.

I have another question, were the roof stainless strips put on all the fiestas, or just the super 88 fiestas? ive seen some hardtop wagons with no roof strips.

thanks again

Firewall decode

I'll give you all the info I can get from my 1963 Olds parts book.
The station wagon bodies from 57 until 61 were made by the Ionia Manufacturing Div. of the Mitchell - Bentley Corp. in Ionia, Mich.
That's why the body tag reads differently than a Fisher Body car.
The 1957 is of course the model year.
DOD=?
DHW= Deluxe Hardtop Wagon
380= Ivory leather seats with Black pattern cloth
Silver seat and door accents, Charcoal upper dash and Ivory lower
61-61-10= Coronado yellow (upper and lower) with a black accent stripe.
The accessory codes are a mystery to me also.
The wagon had a shipping weight of 4537 pounds.

The roof strips were only installed on Super 88 models .
1958 models used the same strips.

I think they mean to put MOD, it was just a typo.

so as far as the decoding, theres nothing that really says fiesta there, you just go off it showing deluxe hardtop wagon on the firewall and super 88 on the VIN Tag?

I'm thinking that with Coronado Yellow paint and Ivory/Black seats, that this was a sharp car back in the day.

The deluxe hardtop wagon WAS a Fiesta.

anyone know if the tri power option was a rare deal , or did most of the super 88s have them? I would guess they would be rare on the fiesta.

The tripower was not the norm but not super rare either. If original it is a cool and desireable option for sure.

OK, I would assume that we are talking about a 1958 Super 88 Fiesta station wagon here. The style number should be 58-3695SD , am I correct ?
The trim number 387 indicates a pale green leather bolster with medium green pattern cloth inserts. And light green vinyl accents.
The upper dash was a vinyl padded dash in medium green.The lower dash was painted a pale green.
The number 30 indicates a lower body color of light green, called surf green.
The number 31 indicates an upper body color of medium green , called allegheny green.
I'm not sure about the L code. The station wagon bodies of the era were made by the Ionia body company in Ionia, Mich. So possibly the L stands for a Lansing ,Mich. final assembly point. If the VIN tag has an M in it then that is where it was assembled.
I'm sorry I don't have any information on the acc. codes.
