New Toy
New Toy
Just picked this up via CL a couple days ago. Beautiful '68 with buckets, center console, and 8 track. I had to do it from a few thousand miles away as I'm still outside of the country, but I do love them cars and couldn't let this one pass me up!
She seems in good order according to my brother and ran rather fine. This is my second '68 Toro and last one if my wife has any say in it. My plans for this one are rather straight forward... just clean up, tidy the interior, paint job, etc...
But I'd like some suggestions/opinions on her. First, I'm not a fan of that steering wheel. I don't know about you guys, but in this situation I'd rather go with comfort over originality. Any ideas? I'd like to firm up that ride too. Is that as simple as swapping out the shocks? Also, if you guys have ideas or feedback on restomodding, please let me know. I was thinking of going all disc brake and maybe swapping the vacuum to electrical.
All ideas/suggestions/criticism welcome. I'm working from several thousand miles away and have to go through family to get her worked on. If anyone knows a good shop that has experience working on these beasts, please let me know. Thanks!
p.s. Looking for a shop in San Antonio.
