New Oldsmobile Song

Hi, new to the forum but old to Oldsmobiles. I wrote a new song the other day called "The Last Oldsmobile" It's on Youtube and it's about Ransom Olds and the last Oldsmobile. Thought maybe somebody on here might enjoy listening. It's kind of Americana in genre.

Hey thanks, I was hoping somebody might like the song. I threw about as many Olds facts into as I could for a three-verse song. The reason I wrote the song I suppose was having grown up in an Oldsmobile-driving family. Both sets of grandparents, my parents and then later, myself, all drove Oldsmobiles. It was with a bit of sadness in 04 when I heard of the plant and marquee closing. I thought at that time I would right a song but didn't do anything except stack up a few notes on REO and the company. Lost the file with the notes in it until last Saturday and figured, what the heck, it's cold out, might as well finally write this song. My ex totaled my last Olds but then, she also killed my horse (inadvertantly) but that's another song. Looking for a good Bravada (Colorado weather) for my daughter. Cheers, Ryan

Welcome to CO, cool song. You should have taped it sitting on a log cabin porch.

I sorta wrote a song once

I wrote these words not long after starting the car club. I was happy that we had a local Oldsmobile club and so this was the result....

Sung to the tune of Dr. Hook’s “On The Cover of the Rolling Stone”

Ah...HEY don’t touch it – Hey Ken, you’re the president, tell ‘em who we are.

We’re the Northern Lights Chapter and for all that it matters, we’re loved everywhere we go
(That sounds like us)
We talk about engine’s and we talk about Olds, whenever we go to a show (yeah!)
We got all kind of mills that give us all kinds of thrills, but the thrill we’ve never known
Is the thrill that’ll getch when you get your car’s picture on the cover of JWO

CHORUS: (J W OOOOOOOO)
Wanna see our picture on the cover (ooooooh)
Gonna make Brad Bishop our blood brother (oooooh)
Wanna see some NLC cars on the cover of JWO

I bought a 1980 from a freaky old lady and it cost 100 beans
I got my poor old gray-haired daddy, in my Ninety-Eight limousine
Now, it’s all designed to blow our minds, but our minds won’t really be blown
Like the blow that’ll getcha when you get your car pitcure on the cover of JWO

Repeat Chorus

(Hey I know, TUCK AND ROLL) ah that’s beautiful man

We gotta lotta little car club, sew on patches we’ll sell to whoever will pay
We got some genuine W30’s, showing Ford a better way
We got all the parts that money can buy, in case we travel far from home
Our suppliers getting richer but we can’t our picture on the cover of JWO

Repeat Chorus twice

(I can see them on the cover, shining man, ahhhh beautiful)
