I want intoduce myself to the group. My name is Tim and I have always loved the 1972 cutlass supreme. I have had three of them and have settled on a 72 that is rust free from California. Since I live in the midwest I got lucky to find this car in my area. I paid a little more to get the car in the shape it is in. Mechanical is no problem but I hate body work. It has a non original 1970 455 which has been redone by D&S engine service. This is the third try on the motor as I tried to scimp by usng another friend who ended up totaling the motor twice. The new motor is putting out 500hp at 530 ftlb of torque. Wanted would be a 1970 442 convertible that would be restorable in whatever shape if any body is thinking of parting with one. I also have a 1956 Century Coronado boat that I am restoring. It is all Mahogany and has the famed Cal Connel Cadillac motor that pushes the boat along at 55 mph. I cruise Telegraph rd and Woodward ave all the time. If somebody pulls up to race I usually do not refuse the offer especially kids in there 5.0 Mustangs. This web site has already helped me on a coulpe questions and I am happy to help in any way with my experiences.

Welcome Tim.
Is that guy who did your engine two times still your friend? Ever heard the term "Once bitten twice shy".
Sorry, funny now but I bet it wasn't then.
Us midwest guys always buy cars for the bodies, my bro-in-law in Arizona bought a rusted out junk mustang and had it shipped there from Maine.. idiot.
The boat sounds like a beauty.
My dad and I are both carpenters along with a lot of my family and we restored a few wood boats together. When the word got out we ended up doing a lot of repairs to others too. He had a 21 foot 50's Thompson that was my favorite, great boat for Lake Erie. Being so shallow it kicks up fast and that baby could handle that rough water with that clipper bow and flex with the beating too. We took that one down to the ribs, replaced and doubled those up too.

Welcome aboard Tim. This is a great site to help you out with all questions Olds. I found my Olds recently and have gotten a lot of help with fixing up the 455.The best thing about it is that she spent most of her life on the prairies so the body is in excellent condition. Down here though there is a lot of salt
so it will only see warm summer days. Cars from the east coast tend not to be in great shape so I was happy to find this one.
